After the Fall

Through the dark methods of its mages, the Empire has discovered the exact date of the end of its reign. Due to the exact circumstances of their demise, they cannot prevent it form occuring.

However, they have discovered that, four-thousand years after their fall, peace has been returned. To their distaste, that peace has come at the expense of an alliance between all humanoid races.

The mages have constructed a gate through which you can pass to arrive at this future destination.

It is you're choice, however, whether to abide by the Empire's wishes and destroy the peace between humans and humanoids, or to instead strengthen the peace by assisting them with their own problems.

Will you recreate the Empire, or will you assist in creating a new government in which all humanoid races can coexist?

Darksoul

A peaceful land has fallen under the control of dark forces beyond the comprehension of humans. Tides have changed and chaos has fallen on this land of prosperity and happiness.

A force supernaturally draws you to this place of chaos and leaves you. Dragons fly overhead and in the distance you can see a village burning, torched by the fiery breath of the great winged beasts.

You approach the village and discover a small dragon near death and crying out in pain. Mercifully you behead it, ridding it of the pain of its slow tortuous death.

Once this task is completed villagers emerge from the smokefilled rooms of their homes. It's remarkable that they chose certain death inside of their burning homes rather than possible death by the will of the dragons.

The villagers circle around you and a monstrous man steps out from within their midst. Rather than thanking you, he pulls out an extremly large mace and says in a deep booming voice, "Leave!"

Frightened by the force in his voice you leave the village and continue along the path. Not far down the road, you discover an inn and ask for a room to rest in for the night.

A new country has arisin near the outer boundaries of the Empire's territory. They have been able to keep their existance concealed from the Empire's scouts, until now...

One day a team of Empire scouts returned from a mission with the body of a slain comrade in tow. Immediately upon their arrival, an autopsy was performed on the body of the slain scout. It revealed a note which the scout had swallowed.

The note reads: My lord, I have just travelled into the asgarb mountains on the Continent of Salanai. Upon reaching the peak of its highest mountain, I was able to peer down into the Archabus valley. What I saw amazed me.

In the valley was a city so huge that it rivaled the capitol. Its walls were far thicker than any which I have ever seen. I fear for the safety of the Empire. The Salanaians must be prevented from entering the homeland.

The scout was lucky he was killed by the Salanaians; else, he would have suffered a far worse death at the hands of the Empire scoutmasters for inferring that the Empire was threatened.

The Empire decides to send you on this mission to save the homeland. Reluctantly, you accept, even though the Empire is likely sending you to your final resting place.
